Meet Our Nurses

The Medicare Health Support team includes registered nurses, nutritionists, dietitians, pharmacists and other health professionals working together to help our seniors better manage their health. Meet two of the nurses on the team:

Laura P., R.N.
11 years health care experience

"I asked him what he was doing for Thanksgiving, and he told me he was widowed, one of his children was deceased and his only other child was estranged from him. I suggested he call his son. And I found out later that he did call his son and they met for Thanksgiving. Later, he thanked me for my time and for pushing him to make that change.

"I tell that story, because it's not just about disease. It's not just about diabetes or heart failure. It's about the whole person and now every time we call him, I think he'll see us as someone who can actually help him to make a change, help him to improve his life."

"My role is as their partner. I'm someone who calls them and goes over certain health issues with them, trying to build on their strengths while building up their weaknesses. I let them know that they're in control of their health and that someone is here to try to help them with that effort, to encourage them and bring them to a point of behavior change."
