Important Notice: Effective July 31, 2008

Effective July 31, 2008, the Maryland and DC Medicare Health Support (MHS) pilot program will end. Beneficiaries and providers have been notified of this change.

The Medicare benefits of beneficiaries will not change. Beneficiaries can continue to see their same doctors and other medical providers after MHS services end.

Over the course of the program, many beneficiaries have said that the Maryland and DC Medicare Health Support program has helped them improve their self-care, better understand their medical conditions and medications, adhere to their physician's treatment plan, follow action plans for managing symptoms of their illnesses, and communicate more effectively with their health care providers. At the same time they have learned to follow healthier lifestyles, including increasing exercise, stopping smoking, and eating more nutritious meals. We are encouraging our beneficiaries to continue using the self-care skills they have learned while participating in the MHS program.
